CrossFit is a highly effective way to get fit. It is a workout regimen that combines a variety of functional movements into a full body workout. These workouts are timed, and the goal is to do as many reps as you can in the allotted time. A single workout can include running, push ups, rowing, gymnastics, jumping rope, and deadlifting weights.
CrossFit is for everyone! Because CrossFit combines many different straightforward exercises, so it is easy to learn. The versatility of CrossFit comes from the customizability of each workout to fit the skill level and needs of everyone. For example, you would be doing the same routine as the pro beside you, but your weight and repetition amounts would be different, respectively.
Every CrossFit session begins with a dynamic warm-up with exercises like jumping jacks, pushups, lunges, and more. This is to get your blood pumping and muscles primed. Next is the strength or skill work where, depending on the day, you work on strength by doing exercises like deadlifts, or you work on skill by doing exercises requiring more coordination, like one-legged squats. Workout of the day is next, where you do as many reps of a given exercise as you can in a short amount of time. Finally, comes stretching and cool down- very important!
